Overview

We’re hiring our first network coordinator to join the Tech for Good Organisers network to facilitate the daily running and development of this new network.

You will be working alongside a team of voluntary founding members to respond to the needs of our existing and new members, keeping on top of the daily communications and admin of the network and engage with key stakeholders to implement the strategy of the network.

The role requires a high level of self-management and work planning, and covers a broad cross-section of work from fundraising for the network to developing content and resources.

Background

Across the UK there are a number of voluntary led Tech for Good communities which exist to both support nonprofits' digital journeys, and more broadly bring together anyone doing social good with tech.

We know that local support networks are effective at reaching and connecting diverse, cross sector organisations interested in creating tech and digital that does social good. This includes a large focus on the charity sector (within some, but not all, communities) and supporting skills development, knowledge sharing and relationships. Recognising that these local networks are mainly volunteer led, the aim of Tech For Good Organisers is to support them to flourish in a way that leads to increased effectiveness, stability and sustainability.

Representatives from across these regional networks have come together to form a member led national body.

The stability of a national network of local communities has the potential to improve sustainability of each local network by reducing duplication of effort and providing a supportive network of peers. It will increase their effectiveness by providing shared good practice. It has the potential to motivate new place-based and thematic networks to form and increase the overall collective impact of their communities.

About the role

Building strong relationships is core to the success of the network, we seek a Network Coordinator to further develop Tech for Good Organisers, establishing a culture of trust so that member organisers can share their challenges and concerns transparently, and in turn learn, grow and support the establishment of new communities across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next phase of this new network, in partnership with the founding members. We are a remote network and work will all be delivered online.
